20 October 2015
On Wednesday 14th October, Brooklands Museum was proud to host a special guest, Ernie Moore, to celebrate his 106th Birthday on board our Concorde.
Ernie is a local man, who was involved in designing the refuelling systems for Concorde, and also built gun turrets for the Lancaster Bomber. Former British Concorde Pilots Mike Bannister, Brian Oliver and Tony Heald came along for the celebrations.
Ernie was joined by 30 of his close friends and family for a Champagne toast on Concorde, followed by lunch in the Vickers Suite. Ernie’s son David said “What a great day we had on Wednesday, many thanks to all concerned”.
Local press were present, as well as BBC Radio Surrey.
