Emergency Services Day Event Report

17 October 2022

The postponed event was bigger and louder than ever with families filling up the site, making for a wonderful atmosphere throughout! Children excitedly awaited their turn to sit in one of the many service vehicles, whether it was on a fire engine, a rescue boat, a police car or motorbike, whilst parents eagerly tried to capture the joy on their faces and enjoyed the memorable experiences together.

It was also a great opportunity for visitors to learn about the important role of officers and emergency personnel when responding to incidents. The array of displays from all conceivable emergency service and rescue vehicles was impressive, demonstrating the serious nature of what men and women do all over the country to ensure public safety and health by addressing and resolving different emergencies.

The Paddock was abuzz with families playing traditional games on the lawn, under 5s were able to enjoy the pedal planes and cars, and the many food outlets were kept busy refuelling those needing a pitstop. There was also a special treat in store in the form of PAW Patrol’s Skye, Chase and Marshall making five separate appearances to the delight of hundreds of their fans who lined up for a magical moment to say hello to their favourite characters.

Safe to say there were many tired feet towards the end, but lots of happy smiles reminiscing about a great day that was had.
