Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01

ABB FIA Formula E, the first championship of single-seater electrically powered cars, combines the spirit of competition and innovation.

This series drives the evolution of technologies needed to make electric cars go faster and further. In the space of six years, Gen2 Formula E cars can now reach speeds of 174 mph and last a complete race without changeovers.

Unlike traditional Grands Prix staged in purpose-built tracks, Formula E has taken it to the streets of cities across the world. The thrill of racing can be experienced by all and is becoming ever popular with a new audience.

In the best traditions of Brooklands, the power of competition continues to push innovation in future technologies, starting an exciting new chapter in motor racing for the 21st Century.

With their first all-electric race car, Mercedes-Benz is building on over a century of motor racing success.

Gen2 Formula E cars all have the same battery and chassis. In their debut season, Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team engineered a race-winning powertrain, coming third in the 2019/20 championship.

Formula E is not only about racing but will boost electric car development and alternative mobility solutions, changing the way we will drive in the future.

This replica has been provided on loan to Brooklands Museum by Mercedes-Benz Cars UK.
