Rudge 'Brooklands Special' 250cc
Originally a road bike this Rudge was then fitted with additional performance parts for racing.
Rudge had a lot of early racing success at Brooklands, leading the development of early gearboxes and four-valve heads. They also had great success at speedway and developed a special wheel design to help with the left-hand corners found at speedway circuits.
This particular motorcycle began life as a standard road bike but has since been fitted with performance parts including an Amal TT carburettor and a high lift camshaft for racing.
